Dark Star Orchestra Albany reviews
Good Show
Love the Dark Star Orchestra. Sometimes they play a whole show, sometimes they make up their own set. They play well and rock hard, and of course remind one of the Grateful Dead and don't shy away from playing the long and obscure songs. But except for Help on the Way, Crazy Fingers, Box of Rain and Unbroken Chain, most of the songs were not my favorite. It's interesting how the guy playing the same instrument as a member of the GD also sings the songs: e.g., Rob Barrasco singing Brent Mydland's "Just a Little Light". Would have liked to hear "Eyes of the World"....oh, and they made up the song list an hour before the song. Would go see them again. Also loved that I was able to sit with friends and dance to my heart's content.
